Killeen Junior Kangaroos Football ("Jr Kangaroos," "we," "us") is a Texas nonprofit youth football organization serving Killeen, TX. Our mailing address is PO Box 1362, Killeen, TX 76540. You can reach us at info@jrkangsfootball.org.
2. Information We Collect
We collect what's needed to register and field a team:
- Contact information for parent and player
- Emergency contact
- Player eligibility details (date of birth, grade, division, jersey size)
- Identification (a certified copy of the player's birth certificate)
- Medical and liability records (physical clearance, concussion acknowledgment, liability waiver, insurance details, and any medical notes you choose to share)
- Program preferences (payment plan choice, active-duty / PCS-eligible status, photo opt-out)
- Payment records (we do not handle or store card details online)
- Photos and video taken during practices, games, and team events (see Section 6)
The website uses no advertising cookies, cross-site trackers, or third-party analytics; pageviews are counted anonymously.
3. How We Use Information
We use the information we collect only to operate the program:
- Verify eligibility (age, grade, residency)
- Assign players to teams and share rosters with coaches and the league
- Send parent communications (practice changes, weather cancellations, game schedules)
- Fulfill medical, insurance, and emergency-response obligations
- Run background checks on coaches and volunteers (adults only)
- Process registration payments and issue refunds
- Promote the program through team photos, game highlights, and social posts (only when photo release is granted)
4. Children's Privacy (COPPA)
The Jr Kangaroos program serves children under the age of 13. We are committed to the principles of the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13 via this website. All registration is completed by a parent or legal guardian, who provides verifiable consent on the child's behalf when signing the registration forms and waivers.
Parents and guardians may at any time review the information we hold about their child, request corrections, or request deletion by emailing info@jrkangsfootball.org.
5. Who We Share Information With
We share limited information only with the vendors and partners needed to run the program. We never sell, rent, or trade your information. Our disclosed partners:
- Cloudflare: hosts the website and stores registration records.
- Resend: sends the registration confirmation email.
- USA Football / NCSI: performs annual background checks on coaches and adult volunteers. We do not run background checks on minors.
- Sadler Sports Insurance: receives roster information for secondary accident and liability coverage.
- Law enforcement or courts: only when legally compelled or to protect the safety of a child or another person.
6. Photo and Video Policy
During the season we take photos and video at practices, games, and team events. With your consent, we may use these materials on our website, on Facebook and X, in season recaps, and in local news coverage or sponsor thank-yous. We never sell photos or share them with unrelated commercial third parties.
Opt-out: The online registration form includes a photo and video opt-out checkbox. If you opt out, coaches and the communications team will make reasonable efforts to avoid including your child in published materials. You can change your photo-release preference at any time by emailing us.
7. Data Retention
We retain registration records, including medical forms and waivers, for seven years after the season ends, in line with youth-sports insurance and tax recordkeeping norms. We retain coach background check results for the duration a coach is active plus one year, then purge. Photos on our website and social media may remain published unless you request removal.
8. Your Rights
At any time you may:
- Request a copy of the information we hold about your family
- Request corrections to inaccurate information
- Request deletion of your information (subject to legal retention requirements)
- Withdraw photo/video consent
- Ask questions about our privacy practices

9. Security
We store records with reasonable safeguards and access controls. All website traffic, including the registration form, is encrypted in transit via HTTPS. No system is perfectly secure; we will notify affected families in the event of a breach that affects their personal information.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy as the program grows or as legal requirements change. The "Effective" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Material changes will be announced via parent email and on our website.
